Click on the quilt for a full view. The Quilt Show Guest Artists Sampler
For many years, guests who appeared on The Quilt Show (www.thequiltshow.com) brought Alex Anderson and myself a 6” quilt block. After several years I had enough to put this together. It might be a challenge to name who made the blocks, but if you browse them, and if you have been in the quilting pool hall for a awhile, you might be able to at least make a few guesses. Apologies that I don’t have the roster to provide.
This seemed like a fun quilt to highlight because I am in Dallas taping new episodes of The Quilt Show and once we are done we will have taped over 400 shows since we started in 2007.

20” x 20"
This fun little improvisational quilt features cording which is sewn on using the Bernina free-motion couching foot. It’s like a miracle. I love the process of creating fabric without a plan and one of my favorite designs is Diamond in a Square - very traditional. Still, by using the hand-dyed fabrics and letting the cuts go wonky, there is a more fluid and organic (whimsical) impact. This one got the name from that golden cording…Surface Gold…you don’t have to dig deep to enjoy the visual reward. This one is a fun puzzle.

Critique Group Challenge: Week 10, Wrinkles Photo by Ricky Tims Click to view larger image. Ricky says: I took crumbled/wrinkled white tissue paper and placed it under a red lamp that sits on a wooden chest. I did a double exposure in-camera - both panned left and right. I had other images that were more smooth, but this still shows some wrinkles (which I like). I've done these double exposure panned "landscapes" before, but this was a first on a somewhat small scale. I like how the wood gives a sense of a flat field and the gentle mountain peaks under the fiery sky.
