Carol says:

This is an in-camera double exposure of the treetops outside my front window. (I overlaid the tops of bare trees with another view of ones with fall colors capturing the setting sun. I also added a dreamscape.) I then combined this in PS with two geese flying in for a landing at the lake near me.

Laurie says:

"Van Gogh in America", a fabulous exhibition in Detroit Institute of Arts. This photo was taken with high ISO because of the limited lighting inside the exhibition room. With lots of noise in the image, I thought it is a good candidate for a black and white photograph. There are multiple frames here, the entrance, the square board in the center, and the exhibitaion visitors. I could have had a tighter crop if I have chosen a different focus. I don't own Topaz at this time so I used the oil style filter in PS to advance my image. Here is the result after several versions. I masked off Van Gogh's painting in my photo so it didn't get affected by the black and white and oil style filters. Forever Van Gogh!

Well - this turned out very unexpected. It seems it will be a reminder to play - have fun - futz - see what happens. I had to make a trip to the Colorado Spring airport and had time to wash the truck. I always find the spray of water and suds on the windshield very entertaining - and photo-worthy. I took a few iPhone shots. I had taken a shot of a plastic skeleton hanging in the house and wondered what that might look like blended with the car wash photos - not so great. Earlier this week I was out shooting fall foliage and found a glorious wild-rose with amazing red and orange leaves. On a whim, I decided to blend the rose with the wet windshield and I was in love! No additional editing other than a 50/50 blending double exposure.

I stumbled upon this cute little place with several different doors. Each door had a number over it so I figured they were individual spaces. Out of all the photos that I took, this door was my favorite, mainly because it is red, which is my favorite color! I added an oil painting filter from the BeCasso app

A Kool Kaleidoscope Quilt

Cindy says, “I finally got around to getting a pic of my Kool Kaleidoscope quilt which I created during the pandemic. What a wonderful class. I learned a lot. I quilted it with native american symbols because I felt the quilt had a native look to it. I titled it, Naniboujou Sunrise, because we like to stay at the Naniboujou Lodge on the North Shore of Lake Superior, and the fabrics I chose reindeer me of the Lodge. Thanks so much for teaching this class!”

Finally got out to do this week's assignment. What an amazing technique - so much fun! After many attempts and many disasters, I kept going back to this image. The more I looked at it, the more I saw in it. I love the contrast in colours and tones. Many of the branches and trunks of these burned out trees ae in quite good focus, while there is an impressionistic hazy feel to most of this image. The time has come to make the decision!

We diverted off the main road en route to the Grand Canyon to take the drive through the Petrified Forest National Monument. I kept the challenge in mind hoping something might appear. I never scored with what I hoped, but this old crumudgeon seemed to be sufficient. It was a fun challenge.

Hugo’s brother arrived this week from Portugal and we scheduled a short trip so he would see more than Southern Colorado. Santa Fe is our first stop before heading over to the Grand Canyon. This scene on Alameda street provided. Glorious leading line. Edited in Prisma app with Aircraft
