The newest Ricky Tims Specialty hand-dyed Fabric, Irish Eyes, has captured many of the subtle shades of the Irish landscape! Ricky is pleased to announce four great retreat dates for 2016! Be the first to register for one of these five-day hands on sewing retreats. Ricky works one-on-one with each student so everyone from beginners to advanced are welcome.

Improvisation retreats are dedicated to the fundamentals of design and composition. The quilt projects will be improvised without drafting, drawing, and minimal planning.

Independent Study retreats are multi-faceted. Each student pursues their own goals and Ricky will work individually with each person to help them realize their vision.

Trips, Travels & Tours

Ricky is off to the Emerald Isle June 3-14, 2015. In order to have more sight-seeing time in Ireland, Ricky’s quilting master class, which had originally been part of the tour as two-day event, will be interspersed in the tour so there will be more time to spend enjoying the country. Check out the altered itinerary.

In August Ricky is of to Budapest, Vienna and Prague!

Join Sew Many Places & Craftours as we tour and find inspiration on a historic trip to Budapest, Vienna & Prague on an extraordinary quilting journey with the ONE and ONLY Ricky Tims and Jim West!

On this trip, we will be sightseeing and shopping at the oldest and largest indoor market in Budapest, visiting the majestic palaces and gardens of Belvedere and Schonbrunn in Vienna, Austria, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cesky Krumlovin Czech Republic.

We will even be attending the Hungarian Quilt Festival while we are in Budapest, and we will have the opportunity to meet a local group of Hungarian Quilters!

From the sights of the Danube, to the architecture of Vienna, and the medieval castles of Prague, this tour has so much to offer. We do hope you can accompany us on this artistic and historic tour!

Ricky stepped into the modern quilt arena after having been asked to design a quilt for Modern Quilts Unlimited magazine, which is featured in the Spring 2015 issue on sale April 2015. His new Ripples in the Rockpools quilt is based on a traditional snowball quilt block, but instead of a single center Ricky has done a wonky four patch. The quilt features many of the newest hand-dyed fabrics in his Rhapsody hand-dyed fabric line, and there is a kit. The quilt is perfect for beginners and experienced quilters and is a great project to do with your under age 13 kiddos.
