This little flower really cooperated this week. I noticed this sunflower bud early in the week and decided to try and capture it each day as it opened to demonstrate the passage of time. The bud next to it barely opened during the week, but this one did just what I needed. This morning, I looked out the window and it was greeting me in full bloom, Great way to start the day!

This is a story that I have wanted to tell for a long time. Thanks to this class, the people who are a part of it, and the assistance of the composite montage technique, I think the time is finally right.

I served a one-year tour of duty in an infantry unit in Vietnam, as did thousands of other young men during the Vietnam War. When I came home, I was not the same. I seemed to have left a part of myself in Vietnam. The years went by and, to put it mildly, I was not living my best life, not getting better. In fact, I was getting worse. Then one day I ran into an old girlfriend at the funeral of a mutual friend. In time, she came to love me in spite of my struggles. Eventually we got married, and through my wife’s enduring love, strength, and patience, I slowly got better. God bless my wife for believing in me and putting me back together again!
