Ray says:

Silver bells and the warmth of a fireplace are not in homeless people's futures during the holiday season. Many face cold hunger and loneliness, only finding comfort in their dog, who shares their life and food. The song "Santa I'm Right Here" by Toby Keith always brings this to mind. Please take a moment and listen to it. I am attaching a link; you must hear the commercial first.

I wanted to somehow combine light painting with a bird photo, so took some American White Pelican shots at Santee Lakes. I played with the image for quite a while adding in the light painting and ended up using some generative fill to enhance the image as my light painting shots were not very good. Not sure I could duplicate this, but it was fun to do.

I used CoPilot and for the prompt, I used the descriptive lines from the story, "He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow
